She's got Tricks, yall!

Although intelligible words are few and far between these days (bless her), she has a few tricks up her sleeve including "woohoo" when we ask her, "What does Mamie say?" Mamie is what the grandkids call my mama, and "woohoo" was the number one way that she used to round us all up when my three brothers and I were kids.  If we heard "woohoo" it meant you better get to steppin'. Mamie don't play. :)

Do you remember? 21st night of September?

she puts the hats on by herself - all the time - these days
So I am totally tempted to post a clip of Earth, Wind, and Fire, but I'm sure you've already got the tune stuck in your head, so I won't make you watch. BUT, every September I get all gitty with excitement because, well, fall is in the air (although it's still 94 degrees outside), football season has started (and the dawgs suck AGAIN this year), Halloween is around the corner, and yes, I constantly sing my favorite Earth, Wind, and Fire song ruling out all the negativity that 94 degree football-sucking days entail.  :) Still!  I just love the fall, and even though I can't pull my boots out just yet, I'm still all gitty inside thinking about it!
too hot for this outfit now, but we are counting the days til it's not!
sweet sweet smiler girl!
With the changin' of the season, we are hoping to kick-start lots of changes around here. First and foremost, our housing situation.  Don't get me wrong here. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our cute little home, and if we could, we would pick it up and move it elsewhere in a heartbeat. But, things can't be done so easily, and it's time we move to a better local.  As if "Yung Thug" wasn't bad enough, I come home yesterday afternoon to two police cars parked in front of my house questioning a "neighbor." Quoted because I've never seen the man before, so it's hard for me to tell if he's a neighbor, let alone acting very "neighborly" while talking to the cops.  One of the two nice officers said I need not worry, but isn't that what they are supposed to say? The last thing they need is the crazy minivan-driving young mama tellin' all the other neighbors to "lock up yo kids and lock up yo mama!" Ok, that doesn't necessarily sound like me, but you get my drift!

ok, not really like me at all, but I can be pushed to extremes! :)
Lots of talk about moving, but we are slow moving.  We've painted the guest room and caulked the walls, and I have an assortment of boxes to pack away half the house to get it in selling order.  More on the moving process though as we near the final stages of staging this place!
she definitely put this one on by her big self!
More on the agenda (besides raising the CUTEST littlest love there is, of course!) includes making (and hopefully selling) girls hair clips and headbands.  I am so not ready or able to start on the hairBOWS quite yet, so I'm starting where I can.  The flower headbands are cute, and I am still doing some of those as well, but lately, as Naomi's hair has gotten longer, the clips seem to look the cutest.  As her hair gets longer and longer, I assume I will start making bows that will pull more hair back, but for now, the clips are working just fine, and they are turning out really well!  I will link up our etsy shop later tonight to show you all how to find them there.  They are priced just right so no worries about spending too much or losing one or two (which is bound to happen with little hands pulling at them).  Let me know what you all think!
all felt and $3 or $4 each
Naomi had a well-baby check up this morning, and she got a clean bill of health!  15% weight and 70% height! LOL, I figured it would be opposite, considering Andrew and I were not blessed with the longest of legs, but she is long and lean these days!  Where did our chunky monkey go?! We have this big girl now, yall.  Cutest of the cute. Hands down, and every one just bragged on her and her hat this morning.  The girl knows how to accessorize.  She puts hats on her own head without my doing, and she cries if she can't put on her shoes.  By school-age, we'll be waking up 2 hours early, I'm sure, just to have the "I wear what I want" battle.  And, I'm admitting now, she will win that battle.  Bigger fish to fry, so if she wants to wear her tu-tu and Chuck Taylor All-Stars to school, have at it, girlfriend.  Show off that sassy little self of yours! :)

soo big!

hanging with her buddy, Jude, in city market last weekend

one of the last spray park days of the year

we're gonna miss Jude when he moves!

Naomi and Mrs. Jessica

absolutely no fear.
I'll post more and more updates as time allows, and hopefully, I can keep them short and sweet.  Picture updates may be what you get for a while, but those are the best kind, right? :)
