4 days shy of a month old

I took Naomi to the doctor this morning, just shy of her one month check up coming up on Friday. Since Saturday night, she has been very congested, and although she acts like her sweet self and seems fine, the hacky cough and stopped up head make me a very worried mama!

We're lucky she has such a wonderful doc. Dr. Ramos is the best. Dr. Ramos believes in homeopathic solutions over medicine when possible, and this approach is what I am so impressed with him about. He gave her saline drops, a nasal decongestant, and a prescription for eye drops. The eye drops are to be dropped in her nose for three days, and he said the congestion should clear up by Wednesday. He also told me to drop breast milk in her nostrils too - the most natural healing properties are found in breast milk. It's also supposed to clear up eye infections and heal any scratches or skin irritations Naomi might develop. Super convenient and super inexpensive! :)

Naomi is now weighing 9lbs 4oz. She's a growing girl! I felt kind of silly taking her in today because she isn't running a fever and smiles and coos just like her usual self, but I was afraid her congestion would get worse. Worrisome new mom is just trying to keep this little one healthy!

She is such an easy going baby, and I have mentioned to Andrew that we should have had her second or third in line because she just goes with the flow! She has the sweetest temperament, and she likes to be held but does not demand it. She LOVES her bouncy seat and likes the swing too. Good thing because holding her all day, although the best feeling in the world, does not help me get through the day easily - even going to the bathroom gets to be a challenge if she won't let you put her down. Today I was able to get dressed and ready for the day while she played in her bouncy seat. Always a good day when you can start with brushed teeth, washed face, etc!
