Baby food

I received a book about making your own baby food as a gift right before Naomi was born, and until she got a little bigger, the idea has been put on hold. There's always been an interest in making my own food for her - not only is it healthier for her, but it also cuts down on expenses - and today I was eager to get started. It was so easy and quick that I will easily be able to make this a part of our normal routine. Today I made squash, sweet potatoes, and peas. She was so cute to watch as she taste-tested it all, and the peas were by far her favorite. I mixed them with a little bit of pears, and she gobbled it all up quickly. Soon, we will post a video of her in her highchair for you to see (if we can figure out how to upload it correctly!).

She's also working on taking drinks from a sippy cup now, and it is a sight to see! There was no way she was taking a bottle, and I think I waited too long to introduce the bottle, so sippy cup it is. We practice everyday, and today, she drank half of the apple juice/water mixture that I had fixed for her. She's getting the hang of it. The rate we're going, she'll be eating from the table at Thanksgiving. Ha. Lucky baby.
