Naomi's trip to the Mountains

Hey guys,
Lots goin' on around here these days, but I wanted to squeeze in another blog entry between home renovations and travels to see family and friends.  Things will slow down, right?  Anyways, we had an awesome trip to the NC mountains a couple of weeks back to visit Gramama and Papa Lee.  We enjoyed a much-needed break from the heat and humidity, and of course, Naomi was spoiled rotten the entire time.  It's to be expected of the only grandchild/daughter on that side of the family!  But who am I kidding? She's equally spoiled on both sides on all accounts!

As soon as we arrived, Papa led me to the "surprise" for Omi that Gramama had been planning for her.  With just as much excitement as Naomi, I clapped and squealed in delight while in the midst of the happy dance.  You see, she set out to find a play kitchen for our sweet girl, and by the time we arrived, she had the kitchen and grocery set up and staged to perfection - some how finding a way to squeeze it in to fit their modest but precious tree house in the woods.  With old shutters that had once been someone else's trash and other gear from Goodwill, she put together the perfect little kitchenette for Naomi - complete with a working cash register and pictures, to boot.  She's so good at re-purposing old finds and treasures and giving them new life.  What else can I say? She's just good like that. I'm simply inspired by her and her crafty ways!

As if I need to toot Gramama's horn some more (she's really the best at all she does!), but she also salvaged a Little Tykes swing and slide too!  Papa and Deddy put up the swing in a tree branch that was just waiting ever so patiently for the littlest Lee to come along.  Naomi had THE BEST time playing in the yard - swinging, sliding, and chasing the pups.  And when she tired, she was off to the kitchen stirring up goodness for all of us to taste.  Simply. Precious.
Naomi tickled her Gramama and Papa with her sassy behaviors - blowing kisses, giving love, stirring and tasting, and scrubbing in the tub.  And by scrubbing, I mean, SCRUBBING!! She wears herself out washing her baby, herself, and the walls of the tub each and every time she gets in.  She also wowed them more than once with her potty-training skills too!  They just couldn't believe that this little lady actually LED Gramama to the potty after awaking from a nap.  I, myself, was shocked by this too, as she has never actually led me to the potty because I'm always the one leading her!  Smart baby girl. What else can I say?? :)

We had lots of fun up in the mtns, as we always do.  This trip was extra special for sweet Naomi and her grandparents as she is now running and playing, and they made sure to make her feel extra special as they always tend to do for us all.  Thanks for the good times now and always! We love you!!
